The Don Jail: Both Sides of the Bars

Lorna Poplak, a writer and local history enthusiast, presents a palette of stories about The Don Jail and different people related to this infamous place. The presenter investigates the origins and evolution of the Don Jail in Toronto from its inception in the mid-1800s to the present day, including information on the murder of George Brown, a love story in the shadow of the gallows, and the Polka Dot Gang. Books written by the author will be available for sale after the program.
